I have written a number of articles now about Spam, what it is, where it comes from and how you can combat it. These have generated a fair bit of interest and a good number of questions, and the most commonly asked questions focus around what I personally use to protect myself from spam. Spyware can definitely wreak havoc on your computer system. Your computer could be working fine one day at peak performance and with no problems and then the very next day, suddenly you log on and it takes forever to load your basic operating system.

When you finally get logged on and online, you notice how slow things seem to be moving. Pages on the web are taking forever to load and you're getting pop-up windows filled with advertisements. Spyware software is something we are constantly hearing about all over the internet along with the threats and risks it posses to computer users. In order to combat spyware software you will need to install anti-spyware software.

Anti-spyware software programs work in two ways.

1. They can provide real time protection against the installation of spyware software on your computer. This type of spyware protection works the same way as that of anti-virus protection in that the anti-spyware software scans all incoming network data for spyware software and blocks any threats it comes across.
