Many people think that creating a number of similar copies of the same page with will promote their chance of being listed in popular search engines or help them to get many listings for a search due to occurrence of more keywords.
Normally search engine uses a filter that helps to remove duplicate content pages from the search results, and also the spam. First of all you need to know what a duplicate content is. There are different types of duplicate content, they are:
* Websites having Identical Pages - These pages are known as duplicate, the websites that are similar to other website on the Internet is also known as spam. Associate sites that have same look and feel which also contain identical content, is a good example for sites susceptible to a duplicate content filter. * Scraped Contents - A scraped content is removing content from a site and rearranging it to make it look different, but it is also considered as a duplicate page. As the blogs have become popular on internet and with the group of those blogs, scraping content has become a problem for many search engines. * E-Commerce Products and its descriptions - Many eCommerce websites out have the manufacturer's descriptions for the products displayed on the site, which are similar to descriptions of other eCommerce stores .This is also a duplicate content. * Article distribution- Many of us write articles and publish the same content on different sites on internet.
