Organize Email Tip 1
I wish I did this when I got started using the Internet. It will reduce spam and general overwhelm. When you subscribe to receiving information from various website, use a different email address than the one you use for personal friends and contacts.
Organize Email Tip 2
Then create a mail filter that sends every email you get to that email address into a specific 'subscriptions' or 'registrations' folder in your email program. That way you'll keep your personal stuff and your registrations stuff separate.
Organize Email Tip 3
Allow emails to accumulate in that subscriptions mailbox without causing you stress. You can catch up with them whenever you want. If any really do not interest you then unsubscribe.
Then for topics that you particularly like or are important to you, you can stick to reading those ones regularly, and add a different email filter to capture those particular emails.
Organize Tips for Download Files
Downloads Organize Tip 1
I recommend creating a folder on your computer called Downloads and then moving every single download file into that one folder. Then you'll at least know where everything is.
Downloads Organize Tip 2
Set your download software to add anything new you download into your main Downloads folder. And keep the downloads folder in your My Documents. That way you'll easily be able to get to it.
Downloads Organize Tip 3
Within the My Downloads folder create folders for the topics of your downloads. Here are mine: 'Internet Marketing', 'Main', 'Net stuff', 'Intelligence', 'Media', 'Cool stuff', 'Games', 'Other', 'Graphic Design', 'Network Marketing', 'System stuff'.
Your own will be different from mine depending on your interests, projects, etc.
Then start to drag and drop your downloads into those few different folders. By categorizing things in this way you'll gain a lot more perspective on all those things you download from the net, and be able to find them much easier when you need them in future.
